How to Properly Use and Maintain Your Food Processor

Posted in Hospitality

Food processors are useful equipment that handle a lot of load in the food and catering industry. Built to last and to do multiple functions at once, commercial food processors are one of the longest lasting and hardy equipments there are, if you know how to use them properly that is.

Like any of your kitchen equipments, food processors need to be taken care of also. Below is a guideline that will help you keep your food processors running in top condition, and keep you and your equipment safe from any breakdowns.

Read the instructions carefully

It sounds like child’s play for sure, but many times the simple reason behind why a commercial food processor breaks down is very simple – the instructions were not followed properly in the first place. So make sure that you and all your staff read the instructions carefully and follow them to the T. Different food processor units may have different working mechanisms, which is why it is important to read and follow the instructions.

Avoid overloading the processor

Another common reason for why a commercial food processor would break down is overloading. Agreed that during crunch times you need to make the processor run at its maximum output but overloading the food processor can lead to a breakdown in which case you will be left with no processor at all! Instead of overloading one single processor you can try to buy a couple more to share the load or rent one for days when you know you will need the processor a lot.
